As part of a casestudy for nationality paperwork, Mr.Vine (Chief Inspector And Border Of Immigraton ), shed some pretty alarming concerns to light. It has been discovered that the Home Office has been blamed for dismissing criminals as people worthy of British citizenship.
Some of the alarming examples of British citizenship being granted are ,one person who had a record of working in Britain illegally for a period of 13 years, as well as to someone else who has stabbed someone.
According to BBC News, they 'did not have routine access to paper records relating to individuals'. In this way, it is ddemonstratedhow casweorkers experienced failings in their investigations.
What is particularly bothering me at this moment, is not that these so called criminals (subject to interpretation of cases) are being looked down upon for managing to secure British citizenship, but the fact that there is still stigma around immigrants and asylum seekers. We already live in a multi-cultural, multi-faith area in the UK, we need not let our ignorance flow that vastly. The reason I say this is this .. the positives around non-UK Citizens is hardly recognised.
Sorry to say, but most immigrants I have met in my entirety so far, are extremely valued by me for their strong work ethic and high aspirations. I indirectly and directly know of illegal immigrants working very hard here, in jobs like waitering, office work and other departments, keen to make a living here as well as back home, to feed their families, who are often severely poor.
If that really offends the Home Office or the government so much, maybe that's the wake up call we all need. We as a country should be willing to take risks to earn an income and not feed of the state, have the mindset to support our family and want to embrace opportunities.
James Brokenshire re-emphasised the importance of the introduction of interviews for visas. The British minister has been reported to say that British citizenship "should be treated as a pprivilegefor those who deserve it, not an automatic right for those who do not."
Who said he deserves to be in a position to tell others about in what circumstances they deserve a British citizenship?
