The EU Referendum is days away and politicians along with other leaders are quarrelling with each other on whether or not Brexit is a feasible and effective decision, not just for Britain, but for the rest of the world too.
Up until about a few months ago, I was completely uneducated and unaware what the European Union was and why the Brexit vote is significant for the present and the future. The EU is made up of 28 countries in the continent who are a politically-driven force with the aim to support one another's financial prospects and gains. The fact that the Prime Minister David Cameron alongside the Mayor oof the city, Sadiq Khan are backing and promoting the remain campaign Having done a fair bit of research on the EU, personally, I will be utilising my vote in the referendum for Britain to remain part of the EU and I will explain why.
In regards to consumer affairs, remaining part of the EU will be the most beneficial in the way that regulations part of the EU charter enforce quality goods control. They do this by ensuring that imported goods meet European quality standards. In addition, British people have the privilege of affordable prices, despite previous recessions that affected businesses across sectors in the city. Critics would argue that these advantages existed way before Britain was part of the EU and so we can stand alone and should stand alone.
Your vote will not only affect yourself and your current family members, but your future family members and friends. The outcome of the EU referendum will create dramatic changes to the often brushed- off privileges ,power and protection we enjoy as Britons. This is why it is so important we vote and encourage others to vote for Britain to remain in the EU. Research and education here in Britain is constantly in expansion and invasion, thanks to our partnership with the EU. World-class UK universities receive millions for research purposes that is funded by the EU. Brexit would pose a huge risk and threat to the progress of medical/healthcare and product services. Research and education to a high standard are vital for us to improve our lives.
Remaining in the EU will also mean more investment from the EU for more well-paid jobs, an estimated three million jobs in the UK are linked to trade with the EU. Furthermore, the EU has even secured maternity pay and holiday pay, how could we not want to be part of such a favourable union?
The cost of membership is the most significant reason for remaining in Britain remaining part of the EU. Numerous economic benefits of Britain remaining part of the EU membership, far outweigh the cost. This is illustrated in the way that other European countries part of the EU pay more per person than Britain does in comparison in addition to Britain receiving investments as a result of association with the EU.
Immigration has been a hot topic in relation to the EU referendum, with Leave campaigners, a Tory Party MP, Priti Patel, has voiced her concerns about the consequences of uncontrolled migration, despite Britain proud record of welcoming anyone and everyone into the country. I wonder how Patel's parents got here .. shouldn't we be focusing on more important matters, like terrorism and other world security threats? Staying in the EU will reinforce the power in numbers philosophy by allowing the involved countries to aid each other in times of hardship and great risk.
I will be voting for my future. My kids that are yet to come .. however many years down the line. My career/s that will be my pride and joy and my reason to leap out of bed. Britain should remain part of the EU without a shadow of doubt, because we are stronger together and better together.
